An orange sponge with tube "fingers" seen off northwestern Puerto Rico at a depth of 109 meters (358 feet) during Exploration of Deepwater Habitats off Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands for Biotechnology Potential. A sample of this sponge was collected and the cells from a subsample were separated and frozen for storage in the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute’s sponge bank.
