View the image slideshow of the New Zealand American Submarine Ring of Fire 2007: Kermadec Arc ABE high resolution bathymetry overlaid on EM300 bathymetry at Brothers volcano. Three dimensional views are from the southeast looking toward the northwest of crust magnetization, Eh anomaly values, and hydrothermal temperature anomalies. Data sets like this give scientist a greater understanding of the natural world. Three dimensional view of crustal magnetization overlaid on ABE high resolution bathymetry at the north caldera wall of Brothers volcano. No vertical exaggeration. Areas of low magnetization are often the result of alteration of magnetic minerals in rocks, weakening the magnetic signature. The bright magenta/purple area in the center of the image represent low magnetization values which are indicative of areas of past or present hydrothermal venting.
